A man who rented a moving truck found himself wondering what the purpose of the vehicle’s rearview mirror was, considering the back was not visible.

The clip, shared by Uncle Ruckus Son on his Facebook page, shows the driver becoming quite confused about the purpose of the rearview mirror on the U.S. moving company U-Haul truck.

“What’s the point of a rearview mirror on a U-Haul truck, if you can’t even… there’s nothing to look at behind you? They just put this there for no reason,” he says in the video, showing how he indeed had no visibility of the back.

It might seem like a minor detail that could be overlooked, but as pointed out by Facebook users in the comment section, the reflection of the text being constantly reflected in the rearview mirror could be a distracting point for drivers.

“It’s like braille on a drive-thru ATM,” said one user. “To make sure you look charming while driving,” joked another. “I was thinking… maybe it’s for hanging air fresheners,” suggested a third.

Many users revealed that some newer models of U-Haul trucks have a camera that, when the driver shifts into reverse, turns the rearview mirror into a rearview camera. However, Ruckus was adamant: “No, this [model] doesn’t.”
