A man caught the attention of internet users after noticing the number of cars driving through the streets of Las Vegas without license plates.
The case was brought to light by Zachary Williams, who posted a video on his TikTok profile showing several cars without plates driving on roads in the Las Vegas area.
“Seriously, can someone explain to me why there are so many people in Las Vegas driving without license plates?” Williams said before capturing two cars driving without plates on the same road he was on.
Although he only captured two vehicles, Williams emphasized that this is a recurring issue in the area. “This [happens] every day. Every day. I see about 20 cars driving without plates or registration,” he added.
“I’m not a cop, I don’t care. I’m just wondering why they feel so safe doing this. I don’t understand,” Williams concluded in the video, which has already surpassed 290,000 views and more than 8,000 likes.
In the comments, users offered their theories about the phenomenon. “Because in Las Vegas the fine is cheaper than insurance,” one TikTok user admitted. “I just paid $670 to register and I’m questioning why,” another said.
“No one registers their cars. That’s why car insurance is so expensive in Las Vegas,” added a third user. “Nevada has made it so expensive to own a car here, it’s ridiculous,” another complained.
