During their travels, they fell in love with the city of Vila Velha, in the state of Espírito Santo, where they have been living for the past two months.
To support this nomadic lifestyle, the couple came up with the idea of selling sweets in a unique way. Kátia dresses up as Little Red Riding Hood and sells homemade treats on the streets and beaches of the city. To attract customers, she plays the character and pretends to run away from the “Big Bad Wolf.”
Kátia and Lucas produce about 1,200 sweets per week inside their motorhome, which she sells for around $2.70 in boxes of four. The business has become the couple’s main source of income.
The sweets come in various flavors, such as milk chocolate and Ferrero Rocher, and are primarily sold on weekends along the coast and in busy neighborhoods.
The couple’s journey began in 2019 when Kátia, a former secretary, and Lucas, a singer, decided to turn the monotony of their lives into an adventure across Brazil. They set up the motorhome and began traveling, starting in Peruíbe, São Paulo, where they first began selling sweets.
Since then, the couple has visited several cities, but it was in Vila Velha that they found a place that truly captured their hearts. The natural beauty, the hospitality of the locals, and the safety of the area made Kátia and Lucas feel welcomed.
