Ukrainian military forces successfully attacked a Russian air defense system, believed to be either an S-300 or S-400, delivering a significant blow to the enemy’s operational capabilities in Ukraine. The attack was captured on video and released by the TIVAZ Division’s telegram channel.

The target, identified by a reconnaissance drone, included a radar and a combat control point, along with other vehicles that were part of the defense system. These were positioned in an open area near a plantation and a forest, apparently ready for action.

Experts believe the hit radar was responsible for the illumination and guidance of anti-air missiles, and it was mounted on a truck chassis. The missile launchers of the system, meanwhile, were scattered and camouflaged nearby.

Upon identifying the threat, the Ukrainian command decided to eliminate the targets using GMLRS missiles from the American M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system. The impact resulted in severe damage, and it is likely that some components, such as the radars, were completely destroyed.

This attack stands out in a context where the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems have been critical in protecting Russian forces and strategic installations in the occupied territories. The destruction of these systems represents a significant loss to the occupying forces.

Recently, similar attacks by Ukrainian forces, also using HIMARS, resulted in the destruction of other Russian air defense systems, including a Buk system in the Donetsk region and a Tor system in Zaporizhzhia.
