
During an official visit to Kyiv, Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadefuhl delivered a batch of vehicles to Ukrainian security forces. The recipients included members of the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The information was confirmed on June 30 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

According to the ministry, the vehicles will be used to provide logistical support to border units and to support mobile firefighting teams responsible for protecting civilian and critical infrastructure.
Journalist and analyst Julian Röpke from the German publication BILD detailed that the donation includes 65 Mercedes Unimog trucks for border services and 10 new Volkswagen Amarok pickups for the National Guard.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko thanked Germany for its continued support, emphasizing that the vehicles enhance rapid response capabilities, critical infrastructure protection, counter-drone operations, and demining efforts.
Additionally, Klymenko expressed gratitude for Germany’s assistance in the area of chemical, biological, and radiological threat protection—an essential resource especially in the wake of attacks on industrial facilities.
Minister Johann Wadefuhl reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, stressing that Berlin will continue to provide assistance “for as long as necessary.”
