This event marks a significant milestone in the development of the Polish Armed Forces and represents a crucial element in the country’s military transformation process. The new fighter jet promises to change the future of #WojskoPolskie, initiating systemic progress in national defense.
The first F-35 aircraft, identified by the number AZ-01, was transferred to the Air Force in December this year and will be operated from the Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas. Additionally, Polish pilots will be trained at this base and at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The first pilots will depart for the United States this fall, where they will train on eight Polish aircraft, which will remain in the U.S. until 2027.
During the unveiling ceremony, Major General Ireneusz Nowak, Inspector of the Air Force, emphasized the importance of Poland’s inclusion in the European coalition of 5th generation fighter jets: “We are joining a strong coalition of 5th generation fighter jets across Europe, strengthening air superiority through allied deterrence.”
He reinforced that allies from #NATO countries will stand together in facing evolving threats.
Currently, F-35s operate from 32 bases worldwide. To date, more than 1000 aircraft have been delivered, 2540 pilots have been trained, along with 16,690 maintenance personnel. The global F-35 fleet has already surpassed 889,000 flight hours.
