Lockheed Martin presented the first F-35A of the Belgian Air Force from their production facilities in Fort Worth, Texas.

This is the first fighter jet out of a total of 34 F-35s to be delivered to the Belgian Air Force next year, for now, the aircraft will remain at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, where pilot and maintenance training for international F-35 clients takes place.
Military personnel from Belgium and the United States attended the ceremony, including Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. “The introduction of the F-35 into the Belgian Air Force will allow us to continue fulfilling all our missions in the coming decades, in cooperation with our allies and partners in NATO, the EU, and beyond,” said Belgian armed forces defense chief, Admiral Michel Hofman.
The aircraft, designated AY-01 and with the tail number FL001, features a version of the Belgian national flag, following the example of the Royal Danish Air Force.
