The Vancouver International Auto Show has decided to remove Tesla from the event due to safety concerns following a series of attacks on the brand’s vehicles.
The organization stated that the decision aims to ensure the safety of visitors, exhibitors, and staff, allowing the focus to remain on the positive aspects of the show. The event, which includes manufacturers such as Toyota, Ford, and Chevrolet, is taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre until Sunday.
The attacks on Tesla dealerships are part of the “Tesla Takedown” protests, motivated by Elon Musk’s connection to Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency.
In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 34 Cybertrucks were damaged and spray-painted with messages against Musk. Both he and Trump have called the actions domestic terrorism, and the U.S. government has already initiated legal action against those responsible, with minimum sentences of five years.
In addition to the physical attacks, a website called “Dogequest” was taken offline after publishing personal information about Tesla vehicle owners, allegedly to intimidate them. Musk condemned the actions and stated on social media that the destruction of the brand’s vehicles constitutes extreme domestic terrorism.
