The United Kingdom is considering the purchase of the signals intelligence aircraft Pegasus, developed by the German company Hensoldt, according to Defence Eye.
Negotiations are progressing under the Trinity House framework and could be included in the next Defense Investment Plan, highlighting the UK’s interest in expanding its electronic monitoring capabilities.
The Pegasus uses the Bombardier Global 6000 jet as a platform and integrates the Kalaetron Integral system, capable of detecting and analyzing electromagnetic emissions across multiple spectra. Germany has already acquired three units to restore a capability lost since 2010, in a program valued at $1.79 billion that includes training infrastructure and assessment systems.
The project involves nearly 30 German companies, with Hensoldt as the main contractor responsible for reconnaissance technology. Lufthansa Technik Defence is leading the structural adaptation and mission suite integration, while Bombardier Defence carries out the initial conversion in the U.S. before sending the aircraft to Hamburg for finalization.

Negotiations to buy 3 (possibly 1-2 more..?) Hensoldt Pegasus SIGINT/ELINT aircraft have seen an agreement between the German company and the UK MoD. This means that around 2030, the first aircraft will arrive, and the current Rivet Joints will be returned to the USA. pic.twitter.com/QHZU4PgqTc
