The Ukrainian defense company Ukroboronprom has signed an agreement with the Canadian company Roshel to produce armored vehicles in Ukraine.

The partnership will allow a local company to receive the necessary technical documentation and components for manufacturing, speeding up the delivery of armored vehicles to the Ukrainian forces.

According to the Minister of Strategic Industries, this initiative will strengthen the economy and integrate Ukraine’s defense industry into the international market.

Roshel already has maintenance centers in Ukraine and announced plans in June 2024 to invest millions in building a factory targeting both the Ukrainian and European markets.

Since the start of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has already received 1,400 Senator armored vehicles, initially supplied by Canada as part of a US$ 500 million military aid package.

In addition to the expansion in Ukraine, Roshel has also started production in the United States and is exploring the possibility of opening a factory in Poland. The new U.S. unit has a structure similar to the one in Canada, ensuring the complete and independent production of armored vehicles.
