All-terrain vehicles developed in Ukraine are set to gain prominence in a demonstration aimed at military forces in Greenland, amid growing strategic interest in the Arctic region.
Models from the manufacturer SHERP will be presented to the Danish Armed Forces and emergency services, with the goal of proving their efficiency in extreme environments.
The initiative takes place in a context of increased defense investments in the Arctic, where billions have already been allocated to military reinforcement. In the past year, agreements worth 42 billion kroner were signed to expand operational capabilities in the region, while NATO launched the Arctic Sentry mission in February to strengthen its presence in the territory.
Tests in Greenland have already involved SHERP vehicles operated by Arctic Capacity, a company specialized in logistics in remote areas. According to industry representatives, the strategic importance of the Arctic has been driving global interest, a trend expected to intensify in the coming years.
Designed to withstand severe conditions, the vehicles combine amphibious capabilities with high mobility. Able to float and move through water, the models use a unique steering system and are mostly produced in Ukraine, reinforcing the country’s industrial autonomy in the defense sector.
