The Ukrainian Navy carried out a precision strike against a Russian special forces unit installed on the Syvash platform in the Black Sea.
The bombardment, carried out using a kamikaze drone, destroyed an anti-tank missile system (ATGM) and surveillance equipment used by the Russians to monitor maritime activity in the region. The explosion also incapacitated radar systems and radio reconnaissance systems present on the structure.
With the destruction of the platform, the Russians lost part of their ability to observe and control strategic areas of the Black Sea, as well as detect Ukrainian vessels in real-time. The success of the operation further weakens Russia’s military and intelligence presence in the region.
According to Kiev, Russian media attempted to turn the defeat into a victory by spreading a fake video about the alleged destruction of a Ukrainian boat by a Lancet drone. However, this action is yet another episode of the Ukrainian offensive aimed at gradually dismantling Russia’s surveillance and combat infrastructure in the Black Sea.
