Ukrainian naval drones Magura V7, developed by the company Uforce, were successfully used to shoot down a Russian Su-30 fighter using the latest version of the AIM-9 missile, possibly the AIM-9X.

This variant, adopted in 2003, brings significant advances such as greater range, improved infrared sensor, in-flight redirection capability, and integration with the Link 16 data system. These improvements make the missile more effective against targets and less vulnerable to enemy countermeasures.

The Magura V7 is a direct evolution of the previous model, the Magura V5, being considerably larger and more powerful. Measuring 7.2 meters in length and weighing 3,400 kg, it can reach speeds up to 39 knots and operate in rougher seas.

Furthermore, its endurance has been extended: the drone can operate for up to 48 hours, or up to 7 days with a generator, and has a range of approximately 1,500 km thanks to increased fuel capacity and a more efficient engine.

Its robust structure also allows it to carry up to 650 kg of payload, enabling the use of different armaments simultaneously, such as explosive warheads and surface-to-air missiles.

With these improvements, the Magura V7 has established itself as a multi-purpose naval platform, combining long range, sea endurance, and advanced offensive capability.
