A ground drone from the 13th Khartiia Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard was essential in saving the life of a wounded soldier during a logistics mission.

The “Tor-800” drone, which was carrying supplies, was redirected after operators detected a nearby fighter with severe leg injuries. The evacuation was urgent, as any delay could have been fatal, and conventional methods were unfeasible due to difficult terrain, long distance, and the presence of enemy drones.

The robot traveled 32 kilometers over trails and dirt roads to safely deliver the soldier to a medical care point. The brigade highlighted that the operation reinforces its commitment to prioritizing human lives, even in high-risk scenarios with high battlefield visibility. The quick decision-making and innovative use of technology demonstrate the unit’s ability to adapt to critical situations.

This wasn’t the first mission of its kind: in May, another ground robot, the “Tarhan”, rescued a wounded soldier 12 kilometers from the front line, in a joint operation with a support battalion. Despite the increasing effectiveness of these vehicles, brigade officials admit that robot evacuations are still considered a last-resort measure, used when no safer alternatives are available.
