During an attack in the Lyman sector, Ukraine, a Russian soldier attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions carrying a TM-62 anti-tank mine.

The action was stopped in time by a FPV drone from the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which neutralized the intruder.

The 66th Mechanized Brigade released footage of the incident, highlighting that Russians are resorting to new tactics, such as using these mines to destroy Ukrainian fortifications and shelters.

According to the brigade, this strategy immediately catches the attention of drone operators, as seeing an enemy with a mine triggers an immediate response. Despite the threat, the Ukrainians managed to halt the Russian advance and document this new method of attack. It’s worth noting that Ukrainian forces also use TM-62 mines to eliminate fortified enemy positions, especially when there is trench resistance.

TM-62 mines weigh between 8 and 13 kg and contain a significant explosive charge, making them effective at destroying defensive structures. Additionally, Ukrainian units have adapted these mines for use with drones and unmanned ground vehicles, offering a creative and lethal battlefield alternative — even replacing wheels with explosives in kamikaze equipment.
