During the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO, held in Poland, the company Ukrainian Armor unveiled its new unmanned ground platform, the UGV Protector.
The system, remotely controlled, was developed with the goal of performing dangerous missions safely.
Images of the UGV Protector were released on the company’s official page, which highlighted the creation of the platform as a result of analyzing military experience in combat, particularly in the use of unmanned vehicles in field operations.
“The UGV Protector was developed to enhance the safety and efficiency of military operations on the battlefield. Our team relied on the experience of those on the front lines to design this new platform,” explained Vladyslav Belbas, General Director of Ukrainian Armor.
With a weight of up to 4,000 kg and a 190 hp engine, the UGV Protector can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h. The platform’s ballistic protection complies with NATO’s Stanag 4569 standard at level 1.
The company also stated that the vehicle maintains communication with its operator at a distance of over 15 kilometers and is integrated with the ICoMWare situational awareness system, allowing it to be used effectively in various combat situations.
“While we primarily position the UGV Protector as a logistical platform, it can be adapted for various functions, such as reconnaissance, drone transport, casualty evacuation, or cargo and ammunition delivery,” added Belbas.
Additionally, the UGV Protector can be converted into a combat robot, equipped with armaments to destroy armored vehicles or enemy forces. Another point highlighted by the General Director was the low production cost and quick manufacturing process, factors that make the platform an affordable option for military operations.
With this innovation, Ukrainian Armor positions itself at the forefront of military technology development, offering versatile and effective solutions for the battlefield.
