Ukrainian UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters were seen flying over Poland on a flight whose purpose has not been disclosed.
The movement was confirmed by the Polish portal Defence24, and Polish military authorities stated that the operation took place in coordination with Warsaw, without providing details about the reason or destination. It is not confirmed whether the aircraft have already returned to Ukrainian territory.
In Ukraine, these helicopters are operated exclusively by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (DIU), an agency of the Ministry of Defense. The distinctive paint scheme of the observed aircraft confirms the connection to the intelligence unit. Currently, the DIU maintains two active Black Hawks in its fleet.
The first helicopter was acquired in 2023, after passing through the hands of the American company Ace Aeronautics, which specializes in modernizations. The second appeared in records in March 2024, but its origin remains uncertain.
Additionally, a popular initiative in the Czech Republic called Dárek pro Putina (“A Gift for Putin”) raised funds to finance the purchase of a third Black Hawk for Ukraine.
