Ukrainian drones were seen launching missiles against Russian mobile air defense units in Crimea, in another example of the rapid evolution of unmanned combat technologies being used in the war in Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, videos shared on Telegram channels show FP 1/2 drones modified with launch blocks capable of firing up to four air-to-air rockets against Russian ground targets.

The footage was reportedly recorded during attacks on Russian mobile air defense groups operating in Crimea, a temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.

Reports attributed to Russian military sources claim that the drones used in the attack are produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. The system would allow targets to be hit without requiring a direct suicide impact from the unmanned aircraft.

Analysts point out that this type of adaptation significantly expands the capabilities of Ukrainian drones, enabling more flexible attacks and increasing the difficulty of interception by Russian air defense systems.

The concept is not entirely new. Similar systems had already been seen in other countries, including Serbian projects using unguided rockets attached to drones. Even so, the large-scale operational use in the Ukraine conflict represents an important evolution in modern aerial warfare tactics.
