Ukraine has begun testing motorized high-density polyethylene boats developed by the company Gulfstream.
The GS5200TSB and GS6400TSB models were presented to representatives of the Armed Forces and civilian organizations in a demonstration highlighting their strength, durability, and ability to remain unsinkable thanks to a hull reinforced with waterproof foam spheres.
According to the manufacturer, the vessels have an almost unlimited lifespan and require little maintenance, as they are resistant to water, oxygen, salts, fuels, and oils. The boats have already been approved by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and can be used for transport and landing missions, meeting the high demand of military units in the Kherson region and special forces operating in the Black Sea.
Until now, Ukrainian troops mainly received this type of equipment through external donations or purchases made by civilian organizations. However, local initiatives are gaining ground: in May, the company Aquaspirit also had its rigid inflatable boats approved for military use.
With support from the Brave1 program, more than 100 vessels have already been delivered to the Armed Forces and national police, strengthening Ukraine’s maritime capability.
