Ukraine claimed to have shot down 710 Russian drones within just 10 hours during one of the largest aerial attacks of the war so far.

According to information from the Ukrainian Air Force shared by the Militarnyi portal, the offensive took place between Tuesday morning and early evening (12) and involved hundreds of Shahed drones and decoy models launched by Russia.

According to Kyiv, Moscow launched at least 753 drones during the analyzed period. Including attacks carried out overnight, the total number exceeded 890 unmanned aircraft launched in less than 24 hours.

According to Ukrainian authorities, one of the most unusual aspects of the recent attack was the reported use of Belarusian and Moldovan territory as flight routes for some Russian drones.

Ukraine said it managed to intercept the drones using a combination of anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare (EW), mobile defense groups, and military aircraft.

The country has also been rapidly expanding the use of locally produced interceptor drones to counter mass attacks by low-cost unmanned aircraft widely used by Russian forces.

In recent weeks, Russia has intensified the use of Shahed drone swarms and jet-powered variants in an attempt to overwhelm Ukrainian defense systems. A similar large-scale attack occurred on March 24. On that occasion, 948 drones were used in a single day, of which 906 were shot down.
