The Ukrainian Air Force released images of Dassault Mirage 2000 jets using missiles to counter Russian drone attacks on Friday (7).
Dassault Mirage 2000 jets were used by the Ukrainian Air Force to repel a Russian attack involving nearly 200 drones and dozens of kh-101 cruise missiles. Moscow’s assault took place on Friday (7).
According to Ukrainian military sources, 34 missiles were shot down along with approximately 100 drones targeting energy and gas facilities. There were no casualties or damage to the structures.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a post on Facebook praising the performance of the Mirage 2000 jets, which were provided by the French government. The operation also involved F-16 units from the United States.

The Mirage 2000 is manufactured by the French company Dassault Aviation. It was designed to compete with the American F-16.
The aircraft can carry six air-to-air missiles, as well as equipment for air-to-ground combat and defense against electronic attacks.
The model has a maximum takeoff weight of 17.5 tons and can reach speeds of over 2,700 km/h (Mach 2.2), according to Dassault. It is compatible with air-to-ground missiles, 30mm cannons, and Mk 82 bombs.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced in June 2024 that he would donate 6 Mirage jets to support Ukraine’s war efforts.
