The Government of Canada has announced the delivery of a new batch of military assistance to Ukraine, strengthening both the country’s ground and air capabilities amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
The information was updated on Canada’s official military support page for Ukraine, confirming that the shipment was sent on October 16.
According to the statement, the package includes 25 M113 armored personnel carriers, along with approximately 75,000 spare parts originating from surplus equipment of the Canadian Armed Forces. The M113, widely used by several NATO countries, is known for its versatility and essential role in safely transporting troops in combat zones.

To boost Ukraine’s air capabilities, Canada is also transferring 125 AIM-7 air-to-air missile components and 38 LAU-7A launchers. These launchers can be adapted for different types of munitions, including missiles such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder, AIM-132 ASRAAM and IRIS-T, expanding interoperability with Western systems already used by Ukraine.

In addition to direct military support, Canada also announced an important reinforcement for Ukrainian troops during the harsh winter: 30 million dollars’ worth of winter equipment, including:
- 34,231 sleeping bags
- 51,679 winter jackets
- 9,302 thermal clothing items
- 22,502 pairs of winter military boots
- 78,351 pairs of wet-weather boots
The new package adds to a series of contributions from Canada since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022 and reinforces Ottawa’s ongoing commitment to Ukraine’s defense.
