The Ukrainian company TENETA has developed a new device to counter enemy drones on the battlefield: the single-use net launcher MITLA.
Lightweight and compact, the device weighs just 365 grams and can be easily carried in bags or vests. Its operation is simple: just aim and shoot to launch a net that wraps around the drone’s propellers, disabling it immediately.
Designed to be effective in both hot weather and extreme temperatures, the MITLA is a practical and reliable solution for combat scenarios. With a range of up to 25 meters and a net size of 3.5 by 3.5 meters, the system can block the trajectory of FPV and reconnaissance drones, protecting positions and troops in the field.
Despite its ease of use, firing the MITLA requires firm handling, as the device uses a 7.62-caliber pyrotechnic cartridge and has a strong recoil. Previously, a similar net gun had been tested during basic military training in Ukraine, highlighting the country’s ongoing efforts to bolster defense against increasingly common aerial threats.
