The Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Factory (KZVV) developed the Germina URCM-3000, a remote-controlled mechanized demining system capable of clearing up to 5 hectares per day and withstanding anti-tank mines.

The machine, which is currently in operational testing phase, has shown efficiency by clearing a 100-meter strip in just 1.5 minutes. With 60% of its components manufactured in Ukraine, the Germina is equipped with a Caterpillar engine and hydraulic systems from European and American manufacturers.

The Germina’s remote control allows operation from up to 1 km away, and it can run for 10 continuous hours. In 2024, the company plans to deliver five units for humanitarian demining in regions of Ukraine such as Kyiv and Kherson, with an estimated cost of $540,000, much cheaper than foreign models.

The machine can also be equipped with various tools, such as buckets, making it versatile for different engineering operations.

KZVV, which already manufactures the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled artillery system, is expanding its capabilities by offering the Germina URCM-3000 for military use. The machine can serve as an assault or advanced engineering vehicle, in addition to being useful for demining and other tasks on the battlefield. Certification and delivery of the Germina are expected to be completed soon.
