Ukrainian forces carried out a strategic attack in occupied Crimea, destroying Russian long-range multiple launch rocket systems.
The operation, conducted with one-way drones, targeted equipment capable of striking targets up to 120 kilometers away, significantly reducing the offensive reach of Russian forces in the region.
The target was a heavy artillery unit before it could be deployed against Ukrainian positions. The operation took place near Karakul and involved coordination between Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and the country’s Security Service, using technology developed by the company Fire Point.
Among the destroyed equipment were three Tornado-S launchers, considered a modernized version of the Soviet Smerch system, along with a logistical support vehicle. These systems use satellite-guided rockets, offering greater precision and the ability to hit strategic targets at long distances.
The elimination of these weapons is part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to weaken Russian artillery and reduce pressure on cities and front lines. According to reports, this may be the sixth time Tornado-S systems have been destroyed since the beginning of the war, highlighting the growing use of drones in high-precision strike operations.
