Following the official notification sent by the U.S. administration to Congress about the sale of F-16 to Turkey on January 26, the legally mandated 15-day review period concluded without any obstacles preventing the sale.
Turkish Armed Forces receive first modernized M60T tank
The significant step of the U.S.’s F-16 sale to Turkey was completed yesterday, and the review and objection process in Congress was finalized.
According to the U.S. Ambassador in Ankara, Jeffry L. Flake: “Congress’s decision this week to approve Turkey’s purchase of 40 new F-16 aircraft and 79 upgraded ones is a significant step forward.
“The Turkish F-16 fleet is vitally important for NATO’s strength and ensures the Allies’ interoperability in the future.”
