In addition to the visual changes, the midsize pickup receives a new 48V mild hybrid engine, a move aimed at bolstering its competitiveness against the Ford Ranger, its main rival in the Australian market.
The new look of the Hilux includes modifications to the front bumper, grille, and body details, while the technical highlight is the 48V hybrid system, which complements the 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine. Toyota claims that the introduction of electrification can improve fuel economy by up to 10%, depending on the vehicle configuration.
The Rogue and SR5 models will come equipped with the hybrid system as standard, while the 4×4 SR option will have this technology as optional. Additionally, all electrified versions will come with the Multi-Terrain Select system, offering six driving modes to adapt to different terrains.
Set to arrive at dealerships in March 2024, the 2024 Hilux will have prices ranging from US$17,300 to US$48,500 in Australia.
