The Toyota RAV-X is a bold concept of the RAV4 SUV, designed for extreme off-road conditions and inspired by Dakar Rally vehicles.

Making its debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, this model is based on the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid, with an enhanced suspension that increases ride height by 2 inches and track width by 6.3 inches. It has been equipped with custom front and rear bumpers, skid plates, and a roof spoiler, giving the vehicle a rugged look.
Developed by the Toyota “Service Parts and Accessories (SPAD)” team, the RAV-X has undergone a complete suspension overhaul, featuring long-travel Fox shocks and external reservoirs to maintain ideal oil temperatures. These modifications aim to transform the RAV4 into a standout model in Toyota’s off-road lineup, with components designed to withstand challenging terrains. Forged aluminum control arms and mounts complement the improvements, enhancing durability and performance under harsh conditions.
Although the engine remains the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder with three electric motors from the RAV4 hybrid, there is a slight power boost thanks to a special air intake.
The RAV-X also features wider fenders, mud flaps, 17-inch wheels, and a design reminiscent of the Dakar-winning GR DKR Hilux.
While there are no plans for production, the RAV-X represents a vision of a more robust SUV ready for extreme off-road adventures.
