Richard Kincheloe’s mother paid $50 and a pig for a red pickup truck from International Harvester to give to her son in 1954. Richard, who is now a grandfather, drove the pickup for years until it broke down.

His grandson, Blake, grew up thinking about the pickup truck, even giving it the nickname “cannonball”, but it served only as a several-ton paperweight and spider hotel, broken and abandoned on Richard’s property.

Blake, now an adult, contemplated how it would be a great idea to get the old pickup truck running again. He took the pickup truck to C&J’s Classic Cars and initially planned nothing more than giving it a set of modern brakes.

But quickly, a full restoration was underway, adding parts throughout the vehicle, from brake lights that the original didn’t have, to a bathroom door lock because the door handle mechanism no longer worked.

Then came the big day, when Blake and his grandfather drove the pickup truck through Richard’s property entrance for the first time in 45 years, and the emotional moment was captured in a video posted on Blake’s YouTube channel. Check it out here!
