An unusual project combines mechanical art and the power of a legendary engine
Since 2012, Maxwell Hazan has been designing motorcycles that many consider true works of art. Collectors from all over the world seek out the designer with rather unusual requests.
The current novelty is a handcrafted motorcycle that uses the engine of a Ferrari F355, named HF355. Of the 11,000 units produced by the Italian manufacturer, a singular example ended up in Hazan’s hands. Now, the creator is dedicated to turning this bold concept into reality.
The engine, manufactured in the 1990s, offers an impressive 375 horsepower and a torque of 37.0 kgfm, capable of reaching a top speed of 295 km/h—a performance that stands out even among the supercars of the time. When installed in an aluminum-crafted chassis, the motorcycle promises to surpass this limit, reaching even higher speeds. Additionally, the sound emitted by the machine is expected to captivate motorsport enthusiasts, according to information from The Verge.
Hazan has been working on this project for over a year and has been documenting all stages of the construction on his Instagram profile.
Since the beginning of the HF355 assembly a few months ago, various updates have been shared directly from his workshop. Currently, the motorcycle already features lowered clip-on handlebars, a modern braking system, repositioned fenders close to the wheels, an SC Project exhaust, and a robust racing slick tire at the rear.
Adjustments to the bodywork, ergonomics, and dashboard details are still pending. However, the machine is already in the mapping and testing phase, aiming to keep the weight below 226 kg (500 pounds) to ensure its stability and agility. If Hazan achieves this goal, the result will be a motorcycle with exceptional handling, even boasting an engine significantly larger than those found in conventional motorcycles available on the market.
