Just a few months after the introduction of the Mini Cooper with three doors, the Mini Cooper with five doors joins the MINI family, offering more space and petrol engines.

The launch offers two engine options. The base Cooper C features a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 154 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, while in the Cooper S, you get an extra cylinder for your turbo, a 2-liter four-cylinder engine with 201 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

The performance matches that of the Mini Cooper with three doors, however, the extra doors make the new model slightly slower. With this in mind, the Mini Cooper 5 doors goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds in the base C model and 6.8 seconds in the S.

The body dimensions are nearly identical to its predecessor and underline the basic idea behind every MINI, which is to create maximum space in a limited space. In the case of the Mini Cooper with five doors, this means an interior that offers enough space for five passengers.

Details of the minimalist interior design of the Cooper, designed by the legendary inventor Alec Issigonis, can be seen in the interior of the new Mini Cooper 5 doors, which also features technical innovations and references to the brand’s history.

In addition to a round 9.4-inch central display, Mini Experience modes fill the cabin with various lighting and display options, including personalized photos on the screen. Parking Assistant Plus includes four external cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors, helping drivers maneuver the Mini in tight spots.

The new Mini Cooper 5 doors is now available for order and deliveries will begin in August. The Cooper C, more expensive than the previous model, is being sold for £24,050 in the UK, equivalent to about $30,000. But if you prefer a more powerful engine, you’ll have to shell out £28,450 (approximately $36,000) to buy a Cooper S.
