The Netherlands has deployed Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems to protect a NATO logistics center in Poland that supports the delivery of military aid to Ukraine.
The decision was announced by the Dutch Ministry of Defence, according to the Ukrainian portal Militarnyi.
The Netherlands transferred two Patriot air defense systems, one NASAMS system, around 300 military personnel, and other equipment to Poland. The deployment of the systems began on December 1 and will continue until June 1 of next year.
The move aims to protect NATO’s Security Assistance and Training Center for Ukraine (NSATU), located in the Polish city of Rzeszów, which serves as a key point for transporting military aid to Ukraine from allied countries.
“Thanks to this, the Netherlands, together with its partners, provides multi-layered air defense against potential threats from ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, fighter jets, helicopters, and drones,” the Ministry of Defence stated.
