The hybrid BMW i8 that once belonged to football legend Diego Maradona is currently available at auction.
The 2014 model belonged to the Argentine football icon for seven years, during the period he lived in Dubai. The supercar was sold by him in November 2018, two years before his death.
The plug-in hybrid vehicle features a Crystal White Pearl finish with blue accents and a luxurious Ivory White leather interior. The car has only 21,690 km on the odometer, according to Whats The Jam.

Equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor, the i8 can travel up to 37 kilometers on electric power alone and reach an impressive 76 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) when combining both systems.
The auction, organized by SBX Cars in Dubai, ends next Thursday, November 13. Even with a few days left before the auction closes, Maradona’s BMW i8 has already reached a top bid of US$51,000.

“This i8 with Middle Eastern specifications and low mileage comes with a full maintenance history and celebrity ownership. It’s an ideal supercar for the collector who demands both performance and provenance,” said an SBX Cars spokesperson.
