Testing of the first infantry fighting vehicle CV90 MkIV destined for the Slovak Armed Forces is already underway in Sweden.

The first units recently rolled off the production line and have entered the phase of technical and operational trials, according to the portal Future Army, based on data from BAE Systems Hägglunds.

The tests focus primarily on validating the specific configuration ordered by Slovakia, including command, control, and communication systems developed in cooperation with the local industry. This stage is considered crucial to ensure full integration of the vehicle with Slovak operational requirements.

Slovakia has ordered a total of 152 CV90 vehicles under an intergovernmental agreement with Sweden. The program includes extensive domestic industrial participation: more than 30 Slovak companies are involved in production, accounting for over 40% of the total contract value.

In addition to manufacturing, local partners are also involved in the development of future platform upgrades. The Slovak company Koval Systems, for example, is working on an automatic loading system for the 120 mm CV90120 gun, expanding the potential of the CV90 family in higher firepower variants.

The CV9035 MkIV variant features a 35 mm main gun, enhanced ballistic and mine protection, as well as an Iron Fist active protection system. The vehicle also stands out for its open and flexible architecture, which allows the integration of modern sensors, electronic systems, and weapons according to operator requirements.
