The Tesla Model YL has been officially launched in China. The six-seater electric vehicle was specially designed for the Chinese market after a decline in the brand’s vehicle sales in the country.

The Tesla Model YL is a slightly elongated version of the traditional Model Y, with a total length of 4,976 millimeters, nearly 200 millimeters more than the 4,790 mm of the traditional Model Y.

It is also 24 millimeters taller, with a total height of 1,668 millimeters. Meanwhile, the width remains the same, at 2,129 millimeters, including the side mirrors.

Inside, there are six seats instead of five, arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration. Even with all the seats upright, the trunk is still practical, with a total storage space of 2,539 liters, according to Tesla.

But aside from the dimension changes, the Model YL is not much different from the traditional Model Y. It features dual motors and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, which is just 0.2 seconds slower than the Model Y.

The YL also has nearly the same range according to CLTC specifications: 751 km compared to the 750 kilometers of the regular Model Y. It launched in the Chinese market priced at ¥ 339,000 (around $47,000). But for now, there is no indication of the model being launched in other countries.
