The driver of a Tesla who entered the track during a motorcycle race nearly caused a fatal accident last weekend.
The incident occurred at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California (USA) during the final event of the 2025 racing season of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM).
According to information from the website Ride Apart, the Tesla suddenly appeared on the track during race 7 of the Open SuperSport and Middleweight Supersport categories.
Fortunately, race marshals reacted quickly, immediately deploying the red flag to stop the race. No riders were injured in the incident.
The event was being broadcast live. In the video, you can see and hear how the race commentators reacted when the Tesla invasion happened in real time.
It is still unclear exactly how the Tesla ended up there, but Buttonwillow Raceway Park pointed out that its facilities include 16 Superchargers, Tesla’s fast-charging stations.
Therefore, the most plausible theory so far is that the driver likely took a wrong turn while the Tesla’s GPS was directing them to the nearest Supercharger.
