The vehicle is the Tesla Model Y L, a revamped version of the traditional Model Y. The “L” stands for “long,” and according to local media reports, it will feature six seats instead of the standard five.
At first glance, it resembles the Model X, but a closer look reveals its similarity to the redesigned Model Y launched earlier this year.
The Model Y L is 4,976 mm long, about 179 mm longer than the standard Model Y. Its height of 1,668 mm makes it approximately 40 mm taller, while its width remains unchanged at 1,920 mm compared to the five-seater version.

In addition to a longer wheelbase, it has a total weight of 2,008 kg. The model will also feature lithium-ion batteries supplied by the South Korean battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution.
According to CarNewsChina, the Model Y L will be equipped with two electric motors—one at the front producing 142 kW and another at the rear delivering 198 kW—for a combined output of 456 hp.
In 2024, the standard Model Y was Tesla’s most popular model in China, with over half a million units sold. However, the automaker reported a 17.5% decline in sales during the first half of 2025.
With the Model Y L, Tesla hopes to regain momentum in the Chinese market as consumers seek electric vehicles that offer both comfort and extra seating. It remains unclear whether Tesla plans to launch the model globally.
