The standard Terrastorm kit includes snorkels and off-road wheels, underbody protection, reinforced suspension, protective coating, with dozens of additional options available.
The ambulance version, like the others, will be built to order for clients, with either short or long wheelbase and various roof height options.
To be converted into an ambulance, the vehicle will be equipped with high-visibility Battenburg markings, LED emergency lights, a siren, and an external loudspeaker.
The interior of the Terrastorm 4×4 Ambulance can include electric and oxygen supply systems, sound insulation, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, resuscitation backpacks, ventilators, and stretchers.
According to a statement from Torsus to Car and Driver, the Ambulance model was developed with the recent severe flooding in Europe in mind.
Conventional ambulances were unable to access affected areas due to weather conditions — a challenge well-suited to the capabilities of the Terrastorm 4×4.
“Torsus had previously completed several unique ambulance projects under confidentiality agreements,” the company stated.
“After evaluating global demand for off-road ambulances, Torsus committed to developing a dedicated variant for clients around the world,” said the company based in the Czech Republic.
