NATO / OTAN

The NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) was founded on April 4, 1949, in Washington, D.C., with the goal of ensuring collective defense among its members. Today, the alliance includes 32 countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Finland, and Sweden, forming the world’s largest collective defense bloc.
