The Swedish Armed Forces have placed an additional order for 94 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles as part of the expansion initiative of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program.

The vehicles, designated Pansarterrängbil 300 in Sweden, will be manufactured by Patria, the Finnish defense company leading the CAVS program, with substantial participation from the Swedish national industry.

The latest contract is valued at approximately 1.5 billion Swedish kronor, equivalent to around 163 million dollars.

The Pansarterrängbil 300 is a high-mobility modular armored platform designed to perform multiple functions on the battlefield.

In 2024, Sweden committed to acquiring 321 vehicles. This new order brings the total to 415 Patria 6×6 units, with deliveries scheduled between 2025 and 2030.

Mats Warstedt, Vice President of the Nordic Market Area at Patria, stated that the purchase signals “a strong vote of confidence and the combined strength of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program.”

The CAVS program, led by Finland, is a joint defense initiative involving Sweden, Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and the United Kingdom, aimed at enhancing interoperability and ensuring the security of logistical and industrial supply chains in allied countries.
