The Turkish defense company STM unveiled its next-generation Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vehicle (KUSV), YAKTU, during SAHA 2026.

In a press release published by the website Naval News, STM explained that the KUSV features high-speed performance, a low-observable silhouette, and swarm operational capabilities, marking a significant leap in maritime defense technology.

It was developed to meet the asymmetric demands of today’s operational environments, from port protection to open-sea engagements, delivering high lethality through indigenous engineering and a speed exceeding 50 knots.

“This is more than a high-speed attack platform; it is a strategic force multiplier powered by an autonomous architecture enabled by AI and swarm capabilities,” said Özgür Güleryüz, General Manager of STM, at SAHA 2026.

“By enabling coordinated operations of multiple units, YAKTU can overwhelm defense systems through multi-vector engagements, offering a cost-effective and high-precision solution to penetrate modern defense layers. We remain committed to advancing autonomous technologies to the highest standards for global maritime security.”
