Grandview, Missouri (January 29, 2026) – Automotive coachbuilder Stärke Motor Company has officially announced the launch of the Stärke Gen 2 Speedster, the most advanced and refined Speedster ever developed by the brand.

Already available for orders, the new model combines the classic styling of 1950s and 1960s sports cars with modern engineering based on the Porsche 718 platform starting from the 2017 model year.

According to the company, the Gen 2 Speedster was designed to offer the “soul” of a classic icon while providing the benefits of the 21st century, including comfort, reliability, performance, and safety of a modern sports car. The model fits directly into the growing trend of “reimagining classic cars,” popular among collectors and enthusiasts.

The Speedster Gen 2 body is completely new, developed using 3D scanning and computer-aided design to ensure a precise fit over the 718 chassis. Each panel is hand-sculpted, maintaining classic proportions and clean surfaces typical of historic speedsters, but with contemporary build standards.

Under the body, the model offers different powertrain options directly inherited from the 718. Customers can choose a 2.0-liter flat-four turbo with 300 hp, a 2.5-liter with 350 hp, or a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six with 394 hp. Available transmissions include a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic with paddle-shift.

Nearly all mechanical components, suspension, and crash safety structures are retained from the donor car, including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), provided the vehicle keeps its original exterior mirrors. The interior also preserves modern features, such as heated seats and steering wheel, full electric controls, and a power-operated soft top, ensuring the daily usability expected from a contemporary sports car.

Each Stärke Gen 2 Speedster is built to order and fully customizable. During the configuration process, the customer can choose virtually any exterior color, exclusive material combinations and interior shades, wheel designs, transmission types, and various individual details. The brand emphasizes that no two Speedsters are alike.

“The Gen 2 Speedster represents the pinnacle of our design philosophy, delivering a classic experience without the compromises of vintage cars,” said Seth Gortenburg, CEO of Stärke Motor Company. “I have always admired the design of sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s, and I wanted a way to enjoy it with the drivability and reliability of a modern car. Our Speedster is aimed at enthusiasts seeking something beyond a traditional restoration.”

Stärke is now accepting orders for the Gen 2 Speedster. Pricing starts at $135,000 for customers providing the donor car. There is also a “turnkey” option starting at $189,000, where the company acquires the base vehicle. Estimated delivery is up to six months, depending on chosen specifications.
