The Spanish company Tecnove has formed a partnership with Ukrainian manufacturer NPO Praktika to produce, under license, Dzhura and Kozak armored vehicles for the European market.

Production will take place at Tecnove’s facilities in Castilla-La Mancha, through the Human & Safe Systems association, created for this collaboration. The focus will be on expanding the manufacturing of the light tactical vehicle Dzhura and a version of the Kozak armored vehicle based on the Kozak-5 model.

The partnership involves the transfer of rights and technical documentation, as Praktika’s models are based on commercial vehicle chassis such as the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Ford F-550, both of which Tecnove is already experienced with. Known for manufacturing special vehicles for emergencies, defense, and industrial use, the company also develops field hospitals and modular structures.

Although it is unlikely that the Ukrainian vehicles will be adopted by the Spanish Armed Forces, due to the presence of domestic models like the URO VAMTAC, production on European soil may pave the way for exporting the Ukrainian armored vehicles, bypassing current restrictions.

The reputation of Praktika’s vehicles for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, combined with rising defense investments in Europe — which could exceed €150 billion in the coming years — makes this an opportune moment for this international expansion.
