Spain has confirmed the delivery of a new military aid package to Ukraine, which includes 100 VAMTAC armored vehicles and 155 mm artillery ammunition.
The announcement reinforces European support for the country amid the conflict and aims to strengthen Ukraine’s operational capabilities.
The delivery of the equipment is scheduled to begin in May, with a focus on reinforcing units responsible for border security. The initiative seeks to enhance the response capacity of Ukrainian forces in strategic areas.
In addition to supplying weaponry, the two countries have advanced agreements to expand drone production in Ukraine, a sector considered essential in the current scenario. Improvements to air defense systems and the modernization of previously decommissioned equipment are also planned.
Another key point in the negotiations involves Spain’s participation in a European project aimed at developing a ballistic missile defense system. As part of the package, Madrid will also send five PAC-2 interceptor missiles to reinforce the Patriot systems already used by Ukraine.
