In addition to the SUV, a Sedan and a more affordable Compact model are also in the plans. The Afeela sedan is scheduled to be launched in 2025, with the SUV expected in 2027 and the Compact in 2028 or later. The three vehicles will share the same platform, and Sony Honda Mobility plans to equip them with advanced autonomous driving technology, including sensors and cameras.
Specific details about the SUV are still scarce, but Sony has already presented the Vision-S 02 concept, providing a glimpse of what’s to come. The Afeela sedan, arriving in 2025, will be equipped with front and rear electric motors, along with a 91.0 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Sony Honda Mobility is focused on integrating cutting-edge technology into the vehicles, including the capability to support Level 3 autonomous driving. The production of some of these EVs will take place in Ohio, USA, potentially using batteries from the partnership between Honda and LG. This venture combines the expertise of both companies in the pursuit of electric and autonomous mobility solutions.
