Smart has released the first images of the interior of the Concept #2, a concept car that previews the brand’s future urban electric model and marks a return to the two-seat compact car idea that made the old Fortwo famous.
According to a report by Motor1, the highlight of the cabin is an unusual solution: a continuous bench-like seat created by the visual connection of the two front seats.

Although it remains a vehicle for only two occupants, the central section between the seats can be folded down to create the appearance of a single-piece bench seat.
In addition to increasing the feeling of interior space, the configuration makes movement inside the cabin easier and allows the driver and passenger to exit through the opposite side of the vehicle when parked in tight spaces.

Another curious detail is the position of the power window and door lock controls, installed on the upper part of this movable central section instead of on the doors, a solution adopted to make better use of the available space.
Smart also indicated that the model will avoid the trend of interiors dominated by giant screens. The images show a dashboard with curved lines in an “S” shape and air vents inspired by Mercedes-Benz models, but without an excess of displays.
The Concept #2 uses a platform developed exclusively for electric vehicles, allowing better use of interior space despite its reduced dimensions. The brand estimates a range of approximately 300 kilometers on the WLTP cycle and charging from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

The production version is expected to be officially presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.
