Serbia presented a new heavy missile system during a military parade, developed by the state-owned company Yugoimport SDPR. Named Šumadija, the system is a modular long-range launcher designed to strike strategic deep targets and adaptable to different mission types.
In its standard configuration, the system can carry two 400 mm Jerin ballistic missiles, each with a range of up to 300 kilometers and a 250-kilogram warhead. Another option is the Vila-1 munition, a heavier projectile, also with a 300-kilometer range but a 450-kilogram warhead, intended for destroying fortified or high-value targets.
According to the manufacturer, the modularity of the launch containers allows for quick ammunition swaps in the field, providing flexibility and immediate response capability.
Additionally, Serbia has recently incorporated Israeli PULS systems into its arsenal, mounted on Czech Tatra Force 6×6 trucks, further expanding its long-range strike capabilities.
