The former Formula 1 Safety Car from Aston Martin, known for being slow, is being replaced by a more powerful next-generation model.

This new model has seen a 153 horsepower increase, resulting in a total of 656 HP, and will debut at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, accompanied by the DBX707 F1 Medical Car.

With significant aerodynamic modifications, including a prominent front splitter and a robust rear wing, as well as interior enhancements like Recaro seats and a tweaked central console, the Vantage F1 Safety Car aims to provide better performance and functionality during races.

Additionally, Aston Martin has been sharing Formula 1 Safety Car duties with Mercedes since 2021, and while the new Vantage is more powerful, the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series still surpasses in power, maintaining its advantage with 720 HP.

Both cars, Vantage and AMG GT, share roots with a 4.0-liter AMG-originated twin-turbo V8 engine. Additionally, Mercedes provides the AMG GT 63 S Four-Door Coupe, which acts as the ‘medical car’ in alternation with the DBX707. These changes aim to enhance the effectiveness and performance of vehicles used in Formula 1 events.
