New satellite images have revealed a notable concentration of U.S. military aircraft at the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Ceiba, Puerto Rico.
According to information from Defence Blog, the images, analyzed by military observer MT Anderson on November 2, indicate an elevated operational posture in the southern Caribbean.
On his X profile (formerly Twitter), Anderson noted that the airfield “continues to be the main launch point for high-value U.S. air assets in the southern Caribbean.”
The satellite images, provided by Satellogic and made available through SkyFiApp, show eight F-35 Lightning II fighter jets positioned on the apron, along with two C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft and one KC-130.
One of the C-17s even appears to be taxiing for takeoff, suggesting an active flight schedule rather than static positioning.
Anderson described the air presence as “high-intensity,” with the fighters providing advanced deterrence and the transport and refueling aircraft highlighting ongoing logistical movement.
According to the shared material, the positioning of these assets coincides with the westward transit of Carrier Strike Group 12, centered around the USS Gerald R. Ford.
It was reported that the strike group was moving through the Caribbean region, increasing the likelihood of coordinated air and naval operations.
“This concentration of air assets and logistical power in Ceiba suggests that the region is preparing for a significant increase in military activity,” the post continued.
However, it is worth noting that the images do not show weapons loading, emergency postures, or other indicators of imminent combat operations.
Additionally, the airport surface appears organized, and no dispersal shelters are visible, indicating a conventional operations setup.
