Russian military forces are using horses as mobile Starlink satellite terminals, according to the Ukrainian portal Militarnyi.
According to the report, the information was shared by Special Kherson Cat on X and by KARYMAT on Telegram. As seen in the images, it appears the Russians have built a metal tube structure attached to the horse’s saddle.
In this structure, they can install Starlink terminals to gain mobile internet access. While the reason for this development remains unknown, this tactic is likely used by Russian drone operators to quickly change positions.
It is worth noting that the use of horses by Russian forces was first detected in the fall of 2025. At that time, the commander of Russian special operations began training mounted assault groups to attack Ukrainian positions.
According to Russian propagandist Semyon Pegov, horses can see well in the dark, do not need roads to speed up during the final stage of an offensive, and can supposedly avoid mines due to their instincts.
